My sister in-law has an 05 Corolla S which recently came back from
the Toyota Dealer body shop and in addition to the exterior they
replaced a bunch of stuff on the inside (even though it didn't
seemed damaged). One of them was the Wiper control lever. However,
now she has intermittant wipers but does not have the band that
adjusts the how intermittant they are. THe shop is saying she never
had it  but she insists she did. Any '05 Corolla S owners out there
verify which is the case?

Dunno fer sure on "S". The LE package added variable intermittant
wipers, but the list for the S package does not mention them.
That doesn't mean it didn't have them though.
If she for sure remembers the "band" that adjusts them, she probably
did
have them. The standard intermittant wipers only have one int speed,
and there is no band.
Mine is a CE, so it doesn't have them. But even that is not a for sure
indicator, as it's possible they could have ordered the option.
IE: mine is a CE, but it has cruise, auto door locks, etc..
Those are options on the CE..
I know all LE's have them, but not sure on the S...
They don't list them as far as the "S adds to CE list"
Maybe some S owners will chime in...

First, her to check her manual to make sure there's a picture of the thing
she knows she had. This will be handy for making the body shop person shut
up. Next, before going back to argue with the body shop, tell her to go to
the parts department and ask if it's possible there was a change in the
design of the part (which I doubt). If the parts guy can show her the actual
part, and it matches what she had before, then she's got all the evidence
she needs to get what she wants.
