I can't believe I'm the one posting this. Rosie O'Donnell more or less
told Sheryl Crow where to 'get off the bus', so to speak.

Reacting to Crow's call you use one sheet of toilet paper, Rosie's
response was, "Has she seen the size of my @$$??!"

Puh-leezzee tell me that one sheet was an alternative to drip drying, and
not a reference to Job 2. Surely it takes more paper to dry ones hands than
it takes to dry a drain hole.

A method was demonstrated how to use one sheet of T-paper.

That sounds like the opening scene of a crappy (no pun intended) porn movie.

Seriously, there is no way in hell that I'm wiping any of my parts with one
square of toilet paper. I can't even clean the snot out of my nose with one
sheet of toilet paper, and I occasionally need more than one tissue.

One square for a female to dry herself after taking a leak might be a
reasonable goal, but since I can simply shake it three times and put it
away, I'm not going to pretend how much paper a woman might need.

I haven't seen much of Rosie, but what I have seen convinces me that she
requires more than one square.

This involves using more than just a sheet of tolet paper.  Need I say
more.

That generally goes without saying. However, in this instance, she was
referring to a particular portion of her anatomy!

They still isolate c. diff?  If you keep the fluids separate, shouldn't that
work?  Most of the time it's outpatient-treated.  Unless you mean c. diff
someplace other than GI?  Even then, standard hazardous fluids, no/

These are cardiac kids, who develop or arrive with diarrhea, and then test
positive for c. diff.  At our hospital they do isolate for c. diff.  It's
contact precautions, glove and gowns.  I forego the gown most of the time
'cuz I am not holding them against me and it's a pain to gown 100 times a
shift.  Just gloves and good hand hygiene.

I mentioned this to lab-tech hubby, and he said that's still standard
procedure. I guess it makes sense, as you can't expect lay people to
properly avoid spreading it.  And a compromised cardiac patient is a
nightmare already, so...

Ooh, ooh! I have another idea for Cheryl! This one is at least as good as
her "one-square" concept, and way better than her "diner's sleeve" idea.

Women can save their sanitary napkins from the beginning and end of their
cycles. There's not much there, so why throw them away until they are full?
Save them for next time.

Now that's a "green" idea.

Ummm... there are flooding periods, sometimes complete with gigunda clots -

disaster the initial idea would already be, even with a light flow!

Actually, before napkins & tampons were manufactured, women reused pieces of
cloth, washing them out between uses.  My mother had to do that as a teen.

My mom told me that some of the Afrocentric beliefs of her time was that if
anyone got ahold of your blood, they could cast spells on you, so they used
to *burn* their menstrual padding!  She said the smell was ghastly, and I
believe her.

Nobody expresses a date as mm/dd/'yy. mm/dd/yy is common in America,
dd/mm/yy is used in some places, and yy/mm/dd is the best way (well,
yyy/mm/dd is arguably better) to name computer files that you want sorted by
name, but need them in chonoligical order.

Having said all of that, I'm not the one that started the thread, so don't
get all pissy because I carried on the format of the OP.

And, there's going to be 09:10:11 12/13/14 too.

I'm confused. I did not apologize. And I repeatedly made the same point that
you started out correcting, and I added new examples along the way.

Then You would probably like the one about how to pronounce the capital of
Kentucky:

Louisville or Louieville

It's marked OT, which is all that's required for proper netiquette

Yeah, I heard about that.  I wonder if she was "asked" to leave.

Love her or hate her, she kept things interesting! (I didn't watch the show)

*rolling eyes*  They should have ponied up the money, because she sent their
ratings through the roof.  I'm still stunned she was supportive of Alec
Baldwin's rant.  That was child abuse...period.

To be fair, though, I've felt just as angry as Baldwin when I couldn't
contact my kids.  It's scary, frustrating and infuriating at the same time.
There's that sense of, "what if something really happened to him/her this
time?!"  Then, when you find out they're just ignoring you, it pisses you
off royally.

Having said that, he went too far with the name-calling.  And his primary
reason for anger seemed to be that he felt she didn't respect him, not that
she disregarded his feelings of terror, not knowing where she was or what
was happening to her.  That's the difference that makes it abuse.  It's all
about *him*, not her.  For those three of you who have not yet heard about
this:

He also shouldn't have called her or her mother names.  Hubby and I agreed
long ago, that if we split, we'd never drag the kids into it, no matter how
acrimonious the split might be - it's just not fair to the child.

I think Baldwin's custody battle is over...

If I were the judge, I'd throw it out. How do you suppose it got to the

What's-her-name ...

She said it wasn't her, but I doubt the kid did it, that leaves

I think the kid or one of her friends leaked it, to be honest.

But even if it hadn't been released to the media, the judge still would have
seen it.

He would have been toast either way, but now the public hates him too.

It was entered into Court documents, but the documents weren't sealed.

If the judge had seen it, that would be different. Right now I would take
some kind of action against Bassinger (as a judge, that is) to prevent any
more 'leaking' of details of the case.

This has been a bitter fight for 7 years, and I have no doubt that
Bassinger had something to do with the 'leak'.

With ya on her being penalized if she did leak it, but my point was that the
judge *would have seen it either way*.  Releasing it to the public was
unnecessary and wrong.

If she did, that was a really stupid move.

I tried watching The View exactly ONCE.   I promptly retitled it "SWAT"
"Shrill Women All Talking" (at the same time).

Their blather is so muffled, because they all try to get their comments in
sideways, that they remind me
of the clowns on McLaughlin's show, all shouting over each other and
drowning them out with their
fevered opinions.

Why did you try to watch it, did you think you were going to learn
something?

The 2 times I watched it I was hoping to catch Rosie swallowing her foot
up to the knee.

What I did see was a show on Autism. And the one comment that appalled me.
A mother of an autistic child said that "I can't believe how much of an
impact this had on my life.", followed by some negative comment I can't
recall right now. Something about ruining her life or something similar.

How much of an impact it had on *YOUR* life!?!?! What about the poor kid!
This person should have never had a child in the first place. Everything
she said was all about *HER* and not about the kid!

My youngest son came into the room while I was watching McLaughlin's show
and he asked what *the heck* program I was watching. I was so focused trying
to make heads or tails out of everybody over-talking each other that all I
could say was, stay a moment and find out for yourself. I think he gave it a
minute and walked out of the room shaking his head in disgust. As with me, I
made it through for the next round.
