I want to apologize beforehand if there has been a group that relates
to my problem, but I'm having difficulties finding the right place for
the correct answer. I would appreciate any help or if someone can
point me to the right direction. I recently bought a corolla from a
private dealer, unfortunately it didn't come with a remote entry
control. I purchased one online with included programming
instructions. I have succesfully placed the car in programming mode
but afterwards while simultaneously pressing both the lock and unlock
buttons the car does not responds. Any advice or suggestiosn would be
very helpful, anything in order to avoid expensive dealer fees and
wasting time. Thanks again...

If the remote is a factory installed option and not a dealer installed
option, try these instructions: http://ebiz.netopia.com/pyr/toyota/

Good luck!

I tried the instructions you gave me but I had the same problem, I can
get the car in programming mode (step 5) but I can't register the
actual control (step 6). I replaced the battery, still didn't work.
I'm curious about the remote that I bought because there are two types
of remotes, on the pages you linked me, the programming instructions
was referring to remote w/ fcc id: GQ43VT14T, but I received one w/
fcc id: BAB237131-056. (Its strange that eventhough they were
different ids the instructions still worked) I emailed the vendor
before buying asking them about this and they said it was based on the
security light in my car. Is it possible that I have the incorrect
remote or is it simply another fcc id that is compatible? Thanks for
your help.

Yes, it is possible that you have the incorrect remote, and another FCC ID
is probably incompatible.

There is another possibility, and that is that the remote is a Securikey
system installed by Southeast Toyota Distributors of Gulf States Toyota
Distributors.  If that is the case, try this:

This set of instructions came from the internet, so its accuracy is unknown.
This is for the "Sekuri-Key" system found in the Gulf States and
"South East Toyota". This is not a factory Toyota unit, but it may be port
installed in your car/truck from these regions.

PROGRAMMING ADDITIONAL or REPLACEMENT TRANSMITTERS

Each SECURIKEY+ system can be operated by up to four (4) different
SECURIKEY+ transmitters. The system is supplied from the factory with two
(2) transmitters included, and additional transmitters are available through
parts distribution. Any new or replacement transmitters will need to be
programmed to the main control module before they will activate the system.
The SECURIKEY+ main control module uses a six (6) channel radio frequency
receiver; each channel controlling a different function of the SECURIKEY+
system. Each transmitter button can be programmed to only one of the
receiver channels (e.g., the GREEN button cannot be programmed to operate
the headlight feature and remote start option; it can operate only one or
the other feature). The following is a list of each receiver channel, and
the function of each channel.

CHANNEL #   FEATURE CONTROLLED BY THIS CHANNEL
1       Lock
2       Unlock
3       Trunk Release (optional kit required; not available on all models)
4       30 second headlight activation (only if required by GREEN button)
5       Remote panic (only if required by GREEN button instead of LOCK
button)
6       Remote start (optional kit required; not available on all models)

To program new or additional transmitters, or when adding options to
existing SECURIKEY+ transmitters, follow the step by step programming
instructions found below. When programming, it is important to complete each
step of the procedure within 15 seconds, or the system will terminate the
programming mode. If this happens, simply start again.

Be sure that the SECURIKEY+ system is disarmed, and the lighted valet switch
is in the off (out) position before you begin.
Turn the vehicle's ignition key to the on position.
Press then release the L.E.D. valet switch 6 times.

To program the LOCK button on the transmitter, press and hold the LOCK
button until the vehicle's horn sounds one loud chirp. Repeat this for all
transmitters that need the LOCK button programmed (up to four transmitters).
After the LOCK button on all transmitters have been programmed, press and
release the L.E.D. valet switch 2 times to advance to the next receiver
channel.

To program the TRUNK RELEASE option on the transmitter, press and hold the

press and release the L.E.D. valet switch 2 times to advance to the next
receiver channel.

CHANNEL 4: 30 SECOND HEADLIGHT Feature   Horn Chirps 4 Times   L.E.D.

four transmitters).
After the HEADLIGHT button on all transmitters have been programmed, press
and release the L.E.D. valet switch 2 times to advance to the next receiver
channel.

CHANNEL 5: Separate PANIC Button Feature   Horn Chirps 5 Times   L.E.D.
Flashes 5 Times
To program the PANIC option on the transmitter, press and hold the GREEN
option button until the vehicle's horn sounds one loud chirp. Repeat this
for all transmitters that need the GREEN option button programmed (up to

PROGRAMMING THE SELECTABLE FEATURES
The SECURIKEY+ system offers a number of selectable features that can be
changed, allowing you to custom fit the system to your customer. The
following is a list of the features that are selectable and can be changed
using the valet switch and any transmitter that is programmed to the system
installed in the vehicle.

Is there anyway I can confirm that my car has the SECURIKEY+ system or
where exactly is the system located in the car? Thanks again...

Check to see if there is a control module under one of the front seats.

I tried the programming instructions you forwarded me but I still
encountered the same problem. I could get the car in programming mode
(step 5) but I couldn't actually register the control (step 6). I also
changed the battery on the remote but it still didn't work. I'm
curious about the remote id. In the link you sent me, the programming
instructions referred to a remote w/ fcc id: GQ43VT14T but I actually
have a remote w/ fcc id: BAB237131-056. (Strangely, the instructiosn
still worked) I contacted the vendor regarding this issue before the
purchase and they told me that the fcc id depended on the security
light in my car. Is it possible that I have an incompatible remote or
is it simply another model that is still compatible? Thanks for your
feedback.
