No, not posts FROM Google....some recent posts with Google in the Subject
line.

What happened to the Google posts?

Because they should be. Google posters suck

Unfortunately, for some people (like me) the only way to get a decent
newsfeed is using Google Groups.  8(  http://groups.google.com/

But you do get the ability to search through posts going back at least
10 years!

You live in NYC area, and are using a WinBlows computer.

Configure Outlook as your newsreader, or Free Agent from forteinc.com, and
get a free subscription to a usenet server:

Good luck.

You can't subscribe to one of the freebie news servers or Giganews, for
example?

you might be able to get a free news feed from your roadrunner service.
Ask their technical support.

I mainly made that last post to point out that posts through Google
are in fact posting...  (since the OP didn't make that clear)  I'm
still seeing posts with "Google" in the subject, so perhaps it was the
OP's news feed that needs checking?

Today, yes I could look into RR for one of my computers that uses
them, but at my primary provider, previous residences, and especially
through my previous employers, IF I could/can get a news feed, it
wasn't very reliable.  (not that I've heard any good things about RR's
news feeds, either...)  I just got so used to reverting to Google
Groups so often as a backup that it became a primary service, for when
I do check out USENET.  <sigh>

and yes, I agree, depending on the day the Google Groups interface can
be very annoying, or somewhat agreeable.  seems that they're always
pushing through some "enhancement" that changes the interface these
days, without any user warning.  8(

sadly, my usual server doesn't even have working copies of tin or rn
anymore.  I never got used to reading news through pine...  Outlook or
OE - ugh.  I hated having to use it at my last job, never use it
otherwise (too bloated and suspectible to worms).

Not the posters, but their means of reading/posting. I've used Google Groups
only when my news server has gone down - infrequently, thank goodness!,
because what a PITA.
