I have a friend whose 1993 toyota truck has an intermittent problem.
The dash lights and the running lights sometimes do not come on when
the vehicle is turned on and the light switch is rotated to the first
or the second position. The headlights are fine, just the dashboard
lights and the running lights are out. I suspect the switch in the
steering column. It looks like about 6 screws to take off the plastic
cover for the steering column. Anyone had any similar experiences and
found the problem??
Thanks,

You will need an electrical wiring diagram and a meter to diagnose the
problem, but common causes of that symptom are a poor ground somewhere and
bad combination switch.
