That is right... in 1 year there will be another state of the union
address... and then the year after that, and the year after that, and the
year after that, and so on. For 2 hours, regular programming will be voided
on national television. Many people will watch whoever the President is at
that time, spit the same old party line, just like the last several
Presidents. He/She will say what his/her party wants him/her to say and what
his/her professional writers put into words. Sometimes the opposing party
will stand and clap, and sometimes they will sit on their hands...
The same old bologna...
This system of ours needs a weekly question and answer session from each
party. 5 people from each party should be able to ask whatever question they
want of the President that week. He/She can deny to answer, but that will be
noted.
This current system is such a grandstanding for retarded democrats and
republicans who want to yell "we won that."
on that note, I really don't give a sh_t how Bush or Clinton or Reagan or
anyone would do. I just want an accountable government that is asked
questions by our representitives. I know that this will not happen here for
a long time. Too many wussies want a staged event.

Perhaps a constitutional amendment is what you want. It would amount
to that if you wanted to force government to be accountable. The idea
of having the congressional members question the president is a joke
anyway. 90% of them are lifers who like it just the way it is and are
the ones who have caused the situation you are exasperated about.

Politicians, like diapers, have to be changed frequently - and for the
very same reason.

It's not a joke in the UK!

Let's see we fought the British, and the yanks, and Spain, and the
Germans (over there}, and the Germans and Japs, and then it was the
Ruskie commies, and Korea and Vietnam, and now we trade with the
commies. Now it's terrorists so off we go fight them in Iraq, even if
they were from Saudi? Always some cause to keep the people afraid and
motivated. Booo! Now bend over and take it like the PTB expect.

You are assuming that there is a difference between Republicans and
Democrats. With the exception of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, there isn't
any. Hillary is McCain. Romney is Edwards. Huckabee is Obama. No
difference.
