Just what the crap does it mean in his tip for tuning SSB where he says he had to "go to finer graining turn"? Anyone want to take a stab at translating that? The only thing this guy uses his head for is to hold his ears apart.

While I am not impressed with the site either, there is a term in technical English: "granularity" (think if a grain of sand). It means the smallest division in data or an adjustment. Today's technician or engineer would call it "resolution". In engineering, up until 15 or 20 years ago, the popular term in engineering was granularity - not to be confused with jocularity). Anyway - it is clear in that quoted phrase that the meaning is something like "fine-tuning knob".

A parallel bastardisation of "marinate" (a cooking term) but emphasizing the root word "moron".
You have to become an amateur psychiatrist to figure out how these guys' (scatter/scattered) brains work, and in the end maybe you don't have much choice but to give up.
Yeah, I'd say he's a troll. Not even a good one, either.
A good troll would stimulate discussion, stimulate the brain, cause focused, purposeful, useful discussion and otherwise be good for something.

In other words, this guy's project is to: i) disrupt the newsgroups, ii) attract people to his personal blog, iii) censor in any way he feels fit to censor, and iv) maybe collect into his own personal "spy" database a collection of information, data, dossier, whatever, on anyone who responds to him.
There is a lot of this trash on the internet these days.
Yeah, I noticed the spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and thought structure in his -- what is it? -- big long sentence (was that a sentence)?

The "grounding tips" section is a total joke. You need to start over from scratch as you seem to be clueless. And judging from what I have read so far, you do not have the knowledge to moronatate anything I would write about the subject.

We're all benefitting by these free and open (unmoderated) newsgroups where you have as free speech as free speech can be free. Over the last 10+ years or so, all manner of commercialization has invaded the internet and quite a bit of it has been aimed at getting people to come over to website chatrooms where the censorship, stealing of authored ideas, creation of databases to invade your privacy, throw "in-your-face" advertising, and exploitation of vulnerabilities in your web browsers to place malware, spyware, rootkits, keystroke loggers, etc., onto your boxes (you gus do have your browsers configured to decline cookies, disable java/javascript/pop-ups, auto-anything, right?).
Fine, owners of websites can run them the way they want. Next time these cheap trolls come on here and try to suck/cajole/entrap/entice an audience over to their website chatroom, go and see if you can play the game with them (make a post there and invite people to come back to these really free, open old-fashioned newsgroups and see how long it lasts). As far as I'm concerned, all these guys running censored chatrooms or whatever and constantly coming to newsgroups to suck away "victims" are a bunch of parasites.
Otherwise, we're living in a world where "power" games are being played on us...everything from telemarketing calls to our home telephones to chatroom trolls.

Mike hunt - 13 May 2008 23:39 GMT The proven way to get the kooks out of any NG is to simply ignore them and they will go away. For the most part they are lonely souls that do not have a life in the real world. Off topic stuff in a NG prompts others to listen to their nonsense. Egnore them for a while and see for yourself

Mike hunt - 14 May 2008 18:52 GMT What makes you believe using a NG for it intended purpose, and ignoring the kooks, would give the kooks a victory???
