On a news program today, pedestrains in NY were asked several questions
about the US.

Who wrote the Declaration of Independence? And what country did it declare
itself independent from?

How many stripes are on the US Flag and what do they mean?

How many US states are there?

What was the first state?

The 4th of July celebrates what?

Who was the first, second and third US President? No one got all 3.

It was amazing at some of the answers. No one got them all correct and the
age range was from 10 to about 70.

I was particularly flabbergasted when one person said that We The People
wrote the Declaration of independence. She also said that the US declared
independence from the Statue of Liberty.

Those are Democrat voters you describe.

This is the product of Americans having to spend so much time earning
a decent living.  This is the product of having to expend all our
energy fighting to keep our jobs, competing with other workers
consumed with their fear of unemployment, battling stupid managers who
no longer manage people.  We work much more than EU workers, yet they
own most of America's large corporations.

The team of managers working to outsource all our IT groups is from
the UK or France.  They will all go home to government provided
healthcare and discount prescription drugs.  American workers will be
left severely under-employed and without any healthcare and having to
pay full price for prescription drugs.

BTW, the price of drugs in he US is set to compensate for the "losses"
from having to discount prescription drugs in the rest of the world.

This is more a product of an education system that places more importance
on using a condom than teaching traditional subjects.

Also, the lack of discipline. You will always have people that aren't
quite up to snuff, but the better the education they are given to begin
with, the more they will know.

We can all thank Bill And Hillary for helping to push the move to India
for IT workers. God forbid Americans should have *REAL* jobs with *REAL*
wages when we can have people in other countries doing it for pennies on
the dollar!

Don't believe the Clintoons had anything to do with it? Google it,
please.

Alas, a lot of companies have begun moving their IT call centers back to
the US, because they are no longer saving any money, and realize that
being near your employees is better than saving a few pennies...
