You need to consider the person making the comment Natalie and then take into consideration the character of that person. In other words, don't be offended or insulted by the stupidity of others.

Just because one opposes Obama they get labeled as racist or afraid of his skin color. I vehemently oppose Obama based upon his policies and what I see happening if he is elected as President. I also opposed Hillary Clinton for the same reason but was labeled as a sexist in that case also. It is completely baseless and is just another bomb lobbed one's way to make them shut up lest they be ostracized.
Scott is being taken to the woodshed for something he didn't even start. I'm sorry Natalie was offended but everyone else is like jackals pouncing on a flesh wound. Scott made an ill attempt at humor which is reasonable for Natalie to scold him for but you must realize he was set up for it by Fat Moe who seems to be getting a pass in this case.
in2-dadark@webtv.net - 25 Jul 2008 12:00 GMT Sott's aversion to an Obama presidency and his remarks at the beginning of this thread are all the proof needed. You were twisting ALL day yesterday scott..???
Which reminds me, I need to get an Obama sign for the yard of my place here in Pa. I have a neighbor in this gated community who is a narc. A bigger racist (than he and his wifey) I've never seen.
And if it pisses him off half as much as you, scott, my work here is done. I'll leave it up all winter for them to enjoy while I'm gone..
American sells itself as a melting pot. But the turnout in Berlin is very telling as to where the respect for all humans is given. Tina had it right moving to Europe..Hopefully, if Obama gets in, these haters will find another land to posion...

Because he is STUPID and DANGEROUS!
I'd love to have a competent black as president. Barry is NOT COMPETENT....

I agree. If it'll piss off the racists in this country the way it has Scott, I'm willing to ignore the abortion issue and vote for Obama. I don't think mccain is as clear on abortion as I'd like him to be either.
Mccain couldn't even fill up the Kirby center here in Wilkes-barre, Pa...That's about 1500 seats! If Mccain can't carry racisit Pennsylvania, he's screwed..
It's ironic, mccain's about as white a man as I've seen run for pres. He makes Nixon look like Barry White..

There is a very large new home near me, at least 6000 square feet. In the driveway sits a very large dodge pickup, the kind the green people love to hate, next to it is another SUV, the kind the green people love to hate. The yard is highly manicured, with a built-in sprinkler system wasting valuable water supply to keep the grass looking like a carpet. This owner clearly likes big toys and big houses with very carpet like lawns. Sitting in the front yard is the only obama lawn sign I've see so far. Seems funny that someone would own all that junk and waste so much fuel and water then claim to be a democrat which claims to be for the environment.

But I love pissing off racists and for that matter..feminists (they have a lot in common).
Actually the property you describe sounds like it's owned by a racist.. The wifey must have snuck that sign out there...?
I have 2 homes that (when added together) don't add up to 3,000 S.F. I don't burn any kind of heat in the winter or AC in the summer. My spare vehicle at each place is a scooter and my car is going on 8 years old and is a 4 cyl... (maybe I qualify to be a Dim??)
If voting for Obama will make the U.S. more like Germany in regard to how people respect each other's cultures (and gets people like you and scott to leave), I'll go with that as a huge step in the right direction...

We all respect each others cultures. Where the rub is for me is when the other culture tries to get me to buy into theirs. Respect yes, join, NO!! In America we speak ENGLISH, I expect that people who want to live here learn to speak it as I would try to learn french if I moved to France or some other country that has another language other than english. i would also want to learn and participate in their customs and cultures....over there, but not here.

We had that in common, at first.
There were many places they couldn't take us because of this fact. ("Integrated" also meant Jewish kids.) We could only go to one pool in the whole city.
When we went to Atantic City we could only go to the beach in the Inlet section. Blacks weren't "allowed" on the beaches from Atlantic City to Cape May.
Philadelphia was strickly segregated - movies, bars, restaurants, pools, you name it.
The guys from India thought I was making it all up. They kept asking incredulously, "In America?"

And I can well imagine that Snott hated every minute of it. and having to salute a black naval officer must have made him gnash his teeth each and every time. I reiterate my remark of some time ago, that Snott is a Florida 'cracker'...no more, no less.

For a person with such a low tolerance for racist terms, it strikes me as odd that you would consistantly (almost constantly) use a racist term. You are Imus in reverse. Well, no. that's not accurate. White people don't go around calling each other by a known racist term so that we can get mad when somebody else uses the term on us. You're not like Imus at all. You're more like Jesse Jackson, you can bitch and complain about racism, then use racist descriptions when you think the mic is off.

You are not calling Scott a Florida Cracker, you are just calling him a cracker, which is nigger-speak for honky, which is a wholly racist term You are actively using a racist term, and you _know_ it. And I know it. And everybody else knows it.

It's about starting a riot when one is called a racist term, then turning around and using an equally racist term and hiding behind a subtlety of an entirely different term.
Scott is a big boy, he can express his own righteous indignation if he wants to.
Mack is the baby here, hoping his mother will wrap her skirts around him and protect him from his own racism.

When I was growing up, "cracker" was equal to "honky" and was only used when referring to whites. It was a very inflammatory term then, and to an extent, still is. Had you have called Scott a redneck, it actually is pretty much the same thing - a derogatory term for whites.

See my other response on redneck, but my (100%) Polish hubby doesn't allow anyone to call him polack - unless it's a fellow Pole. That's the same double standard some blacks use for the n-word.
I say both phrases are wrong, no matter *who* says it.

As for being a redneck, I don't think Snott could be called a redneck, because no self-respecting redneck would ever lower himself to be on the same plane as our pal, Snott. in2-dadark@webtv.net - 26 Jul 2008 01:59 GMT The scary part is he's not the only one who lost their minds while Obama was standing in front of 200k Germans/Europeans. I am amazed a how racist and bitter many republicans came across yesterday..
I think it hit them that the white house is lost and lost for 8 years. Instead of being happy that the U.S. appears to have found someone who can unite the world and change the opinion of the U.S in the world's eyes, you got the sense they were rummaging around in their attics for their rifle scopes in between negative blogs..
I now see how the republicans got their reputation in the black community..I thought hillary's bunch were sore losers. But it looks like the republicans are going to make (even) her look like a good sport..

1.) All of the polling data today puts the race at too-close-to-call. Obama leads by a number that is less than the margin of error on these kinds of things. The best he has been is at 5 points, with a margin of 3 points. That was two weeks ago.
The problem for Obama is that he's not winning against a guy that by all appearances is boring us to death. Obam should be ahead by double digits.
2.) Obama does not need votes from around the world, he needs them from voters right here at home. It does not matter what France thinks.
3.) It is a common liberal tactic to engage in calling the other side race baiting when liberals start to believe they are loosing the discussion/battle/race/argument. You brought race to the table, nobody is playing the race card except you.
4.) Those 200k people in Germany were there for a concert anyhow. Obama was a side show. And, for a large crowd, they did not make very much noise.
5.) I've seen e-mail messages from the front lines, and Obama was _not_ very friendly towards the troops.
6.) Obama passed on a chance to visit wounded troops.
For a guy with no military experience, he should be far more public in embracing the very troops he is campaigning to lead into battle. Obama made several mis-steps in the past two weeks. He has an uphill battle to win the election.

Contrast Obama's visit to Germany to when Bush goes there.. Don't they flip cars and burn sh.t when he's in the neighborhood...?
I know Europeans to be respectful when they care to hear what you have to say.... For a just being a candidate, there sure was a lot of people. And judging by the squirming I (and a lot of others ) see among the racist, redneck fringe they know it's over polls or not....
I guess we'll see. But I'd be willing to bet a lot of people wont admit (in meaningless polls) they're for Obama because of racism..
I've got nothing against Mccain, except as you said he's boring as heck. But if it's going to piss off the racists, It'd be fun to watch them take their medicine..
Time for 'Dr. Who' <<-----love that show..

in2-dadark@webtv.net - 27 Jul 2008 23:00 GMT Another thing about racism. There are black people who are racist. It's important to say this because sometimes it gets lost in the discussion.
And then we have the 'non' racist people who are hypocrites. For example, I have friends and customers who are black and have a Bahamian heritage. One particular child of one of my customers is funny as hell.
If I were to imply she was interested in a Haitian dude she'd call me a whole bunch of names. Apparently, according to her, Haitians are way below her and 'they smell'.
Now if a white person were to 'dis' this same girl in a racist way she'd be screaming racism at the top of her 'substantial' lungs. LOL
And this, of course, also goes on with whites .. I get Irish people hating me just because I look very Italian. I've never met them or spoken to them, yet they hate me at sight.. These same people might tell you they like black people.. But they're 'non' racist racists just the same..
