Michael Moore: Hurricane Coming During GOP Convention 'Proof There Is a
God in Heaven'
Sometime you really have wonder at what cost some are willing to see
their political ideology advanced.

To liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, the bounds are
seemingly endless. Moore has made a recent career out of attacking
President George W. Bush, bashing conservatives and criticizing
business. His latest outrage occurred on MSNBC’s August 29 “Countdown
with Keith Olbermann” and when he commented about the coincidental
timing of an unfortunate disaster – the potential for Hurricane Gustav
to make landfall at the beginning of the Republican National Convention
in St. Paul, Minn.

Controversial filmmaker admits he's delighted to see a natural disaster
potentially interfere with the Republican event.

“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in
heaven,” Moore said, laughing. “To have it planned at the same time –
that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the
Republican Convention, up in the Twin Cities – at the top of the
Mississippi River.”

This is the kind of person liberals admire.  This is the kind of person
who speaks for you radicals.  This is the kind of person who makes
"documentaries" about what really happened on 9/11/2001.  This is the
kind of person who wants to see destruction and death befall Louisiana
in order to make Republicans look bad.  I'll bet there are plenty of
people here who share his sentiment also.  Do you think he'll be
ostracized by ther media and liberal talking heads and forced to
apologize for these comments?  Fat chance of that, but had it been a
conservative saying such things he'd be lynched by now.

I saw that interview with Moore--you left out his statement that he hoped no
one would  be hurt or killed by the storm. Come on, BGM, what are you doing,
working for Faux News?

But even if people don't die, property will be destroyed, businesses will
suffer.  And since people are still wary of the Big Easy since Katrina, this
could be the death knell for their tourism industry.

Any way you slice it, this is a horrible thing to say.

I still think it was a terrible thing to say, no matter the context.

Seeing the irony in an event does not condone the event.  I'm
surprised at how badly most of us misunderstand our own language and
the psycho-social elements therein.

I knew this was coming!  Making excuses for this slime's comments is
unexcusable.  Ed, you're guilty of the same mentality as Michael Moore.
Your hatred of GWB has blinded you to the harm your words and thoughts
bring upon others.  When this storm kills a bunch of people tell us a
bit more about the irony please.

If you think Moore was serious in wanting catastrophic damage to the Gulf
Coast,
you must also think that with McCain's song "Bomb bomb bomb Iran" he was
dead serious.   They were both bad jokes, and neither man was serious....I
hope.

Oh, I don't think Moore was serious - I just think it was in incredibly bad
taste to even *make* that comment.

If you think McCain wasn't serious, you would be wrong.

Exactly, unlike Moore who was joking, McSame wants more war.  It keeps
his money flowing and keeps the republican machine fed.  Bush/McSame
NEED the wars we're fighting and new ones to survive.

What an egomaniacal, amoral prick that guy is.  I was never crazy about him
in the first place, but this goes beyond the pale.

Both are major league AH's.  I never watch obie nor do I pay to see
moore's movies.  I could care less if ether on were to keel over in the
next minute.
