"If it does work out well, it will probably be a small plus for us,"
said New York Rep. Peter King, top Republican on the House Homeland
Security Committee, which oversees federal disaster response operations.

Why is it not surprising that the Republicans try to turn a natural
disaster into something political.

Certainly, the Democrats have never turned Hurricane Katrina into
anything political.

It is the states responsibility to be first responders.
