Republicans on the people's side.
Are the Republican's pulling a rope a dope on the Dims?

After WMD and the Iraq war, failed housing boom and the out of control
spending I think Joe Sixpack doesn't trust republicans much anymore.
I doubt if Obama will be any better. It's all a crock of sh.t.

Of course, some Joes will see through the Republican fiascos of the last
eight years, but others...the true believers who see Bush as the savior of
all good things...will blindly pull the lever for old man McSame. And these
are the people who can be hornswoggled by the financial wizards who say
"Just give us $700 billion and we'll work it out...trust us!"
It's more than mildly ironic that the very people who are supposedly trained
in financial matters are the ones who've acted like 8 year olds with a
sackful of silver dollars. And now they want another sackful to correct
their own grievous mistakes!
I'm inclined to say "you've made the mistake, you correct it with no help
from us."
I also wonder if this isn't a manufactured crisis and if the resolution to
it can't be tabled for the next six weeks at least. This is Bush's October
surprise, only a week early. But for once, the people may be just a little
smarter, and the "weapons of mass financial destruction" ploy may not work.

I don't know, the image of Paulson kneeling before Pelosi begging for
her to get on board with his bailout plan must have been priceless. I
don't care for her personality, but she's certainly competent in her role.

I think you will get your wish. At 17 percent approval, it seems a
change is coming.
