I used to follow baseball cloesly, back in the fifties and sixties, but
when they turned baseball into a family entertainment venue and started
all this glittery crap it soured me on the game itself and I never got
interested again. It does suck big time. World series used to be
played in Sept, outdoors, in the daytime, weekdays, people listened on
the radio, there was real interest back then. Now it's just another TV
show.

It was the strikes that turned me away. I used to like ice hockey but
they went the strike route also. I can't stand professional basketball
for several reasons but at least they haven't been stupid enough to
strike that I can remember.
