Seems he's getting quite big and needs a bigger area. But there is a
squeeze on in Germany just as bad (or worse) than in the US, and there
isn't money to build a bigger habitat.
I suppose the rump swab from PETA thinks shooting it is a good idea...
Knut, the polar bear that became an international sensation after his birth in
2006, may be the latest victim of the credit crunch.
The Berlin Zoo plans to find a new home for the bear because it can’t afford to
build larger living quarters for him as he grows, the CBC’s Ann
MacMillan reported from London.
The bear is also approaching mating age, and the zoo can’t afford to
purchase a female polar bear to mate him with.
