If he doesn't think those tax increases aren't going to show up on our door, he truly is the dumbest f.cker I've ever met. Who in the hell does he think actually pays taxes? And on top of that, there will be 'fee increases' and all sorts of other sh!t. That's the way Illinois's been steadily raising its tax rake-in for 10 years now. Car tags were 18 bucks, then in 1984 went to 48 bucks in one jump, then in 2002, they went to 78 bucks in one jump. At least, thank God, we don't have to pay personal property tax on cars here anymore. Over in Indiana they drive junkers because older cars cost less, they can charge up to 500 for a license fee for a new car. Same thing in Mississippi. Californication ain't cheap either.
Gary is smug because he makes lots of money. Just like old Mike Hunt. They think just because they make more than the rest of us that they are better than the rest of us. Sorry, dudes, money can only buy some things in this life.
How many times have you heard someone say "If I had his money, I could do things my way?" Little they know that it's so hard to find One rich man in ten with a satisfied mind.
Once I was winning in fortune and fame Everything that I dreamed for to get a start in life's game Suddenly it happened, I lost every dime But I'm richer by far with a satisfied mind
Money can't buy back your youth when you're old Or a friend when you're lonely, or a love that's grown cold The wealthiest person is a pauper at times Compared to the man with a satisfied mind
(Rhodes and Hayes)

When my life is ended, my time has run out My trials and my loved ones, I'll leave them no doubt But one thing's for certain, when it comes my time I'll leave this old world with a satisfied mind I'll leave this old world with a satisfied mind

Oh, good comeback, BTW. Got any other dumbass answers, moron?
The French Revolution (1789–1799) was a period of political and social upheaval and radical change in the history of France, during which the French governmental structure, previously an absolute monarchy with feudal privileges for the aristocracy and Catholic clergy, underwent radical change to forms based on Enlightenment principles of citizenship and inalienable rights.
These changes were accompanied by violent turmoil which included the trial and execution of the king, vast bloodshed and repression during the Reign of Terror, and warfare involving every other major European power. Subsequent events that can be traced to the Revolution include the Napoleonic Wars, two separate restorations of the monarchy, and two additional revolutions as modern France took shape

The Associated Press
Vegas, Midwest seek the $8 billion for fast trains
By JIM ABRAMS – 3 days ago
They notably include a Midwest initiative long supported by someone with even more clout than Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., who strongly supports the Anaheim-Las Vegas line. That would be former Illinois Sen. Obama.
It was Obama's White House that, in the final hours of negotiations over the $787 billion stimulus bill, sought and won the big sum for high-speed rail projects, far above what either the House or Senate had passed. Reid was happy to agree but there's no guarantee the Anaheim-Las Vegas line will win dollars, to be determined by the Transportation Department.
You *REALLY* need to do some actual reading before you shoot your face off and look even more stupid than you do already, if that's at all possible.
BTW:
Of course, all of this ignores the fact that this has long since been proven wrong, and that even other conservatives have attacked the strategy of using the mouse to assail the stimulus package.
It also ignores the fact that the salt marsh harvest mouse really does still need help, and thanks to the Endangered Species Act, the government has a legal requirement to help it. Its very nature makes it vulnerable: it's less than three inches long, lives under a year, and reproduces slowly. The mouse's habitat has shrunk by about 85% (.rtf) since 1850, and currently faces massive ecological change due to freshwater intrusion from area sewage treatment plants. The freshwater is killing off pickleweed, upon which the salt water harvest mouse depends for both its food and protection from predators and high tides. To date, little genetic information about the mouse is available, making efforts to boost its population difficult.
From tha SF Chronicle:
In the Bay Area, the California Coastal Conservancy wants to use $30 million for restoration of former Cargill Inc. salt ponds around San Francisco Bay, part of a $1 billion effort over 30 years. The restoration would support the California clapper rail and the salt marsh harvest mouse.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hope to spend $14 million on the restoration of wetlands at Hamilton Field, a project that officials say could create 204 jobs this year and 100 more next year.
Yes, Moron, someone said "mouse". So they save the swamp where the mouse lives. Difference? Who cares about the difference, moron.

Where is that train money in the economic stimulus bill?
Answer: Nowhere. Congressman Daryl Issa recently tried to make that claim in an interview with David Schuster but was shot down. OTOH Harry Reid has long wanted a high speed LA-LV train for years, as have many members of the California and Nevada Congressional delegations and private investors who've been trying to get governments to grant them the right of way and, I'm sure taxpayer money. But that's a separate issue from the current stimulus bill, just like mouse marsh money, another item completely absent from the bill.
Hachiroku ハチロク - 26 Feb 2009 14:56 GMT >> For one thing he knows nothing about the proposals. >> [quoted text clipped - 29 lines] > separate issue from the current stimulus bill, just like mouse marsh > money, another item completely absent from the bill. So now you're saying the AP is wrong? Hmmm...where do you get your news from. Not Limbaugh or Beck. Not Hannity or Combs. The Ap is now useless, NBC can't be trusted, nor CBS or ABC.
Oh, I know...NPR. They're right 100% of the time.
So, where do you get the idea there's no money for high-speed rail?
You need to look in the Transportation and Environmental sections of the bill. There sure is money for high-speed rail and mouse marshes. If you can't find it maybe you should just retire from the group for a little while. And perhaps not vote as well.

Actually, now that the cat is out of the bag, they probably wouldn't *DARE* spend money on these two projects. Only an idiot would be stupid enough to allocate these two projects money now.

Jeff Strickland - 25 Feb 2009 23:39 GMT Come on Gary!
It's about the Marginal Tax Rate, or the rate paid on the next dollar made. If you are cruising along making $249,000 with 10 employees, or 20 -- it doesn't really matter. That $249k is your Net, not your Gross. You want to grow your business, so you bring on 3 new guys to get more work done so your recievables go up, and now your net is $259,000. The extra ten grand costs you $11,000 in taxes. Why would you do that? Why would you hire people to boost your recievables if after paying them and their benefit package, and your taxes, when the result is that your take-home goes down? You could do the same thing with a lot less work by simply writing a check for a thousand dollars and sending it to me.

In one breath you tell someone else he's a fool for not incorporating, and then you blow right by that and then say it doesn't affect your income.
You're right. It doesn't affect *your* income. But it affects the *corporations* income. So your corporate tax rate just increased, and the corporation makes less money and now can't afford the new employees.
So, what does Databasix do? Why, they DON'T HIRE ANY MORE PRODUCTIVE WORKERS.

Mike Hunter - 26 Feb 2009 00:03 GMT I hope you do not work for a small business, if that is what you believe! The majority of small business owners are easily earning over $250,000. If their taxes go up, the increase in the cost of doing business WILL effect those that work for them and their customers.
All too many Americans forget that if one earns twice as much as another they pay MORE than TWICE as much in taxes. Not only do they pay twice as much, they are taxed at HIGHER rates as well.
If you went to the a grocery store and the owner charged you more for a loaf of bread because you earned more and could afford to pay more, would you buy bread in that store?
Do you think it would be fair for you to pay 50C more for a gallon of gas, than the minimum wage guy collecting the money because you earn more? Should your boss pay $1.50 more for the gas?
Why do people believe it is FAIR for one to pay, not only more taxes but at a higher RATE, simply because the earn more is beyond logical it seems to me.
Pennsylvania has a flat income tax build into the state Constitution, THAT is a fair tax, everybody pays a the same rate and those that earn more pay more.
If you believe ANYBODY'S tax will go down, I have a bridge for sale. ;)

CharlesTheCurmudgeon - 26 Feb 2009 03:19 GMT >>> It's one for you, nineteen for me. >>> Cause I'm the TAXMAN, [quoted text clipped - 16 lines] > > He didn't say "Income Tax"... Obama is from Illinois, the land of FEES. Sales tax is 10 1/4 percent in Crook County. Car tags are 78 a year in the state and almost 100 dollars more in Chicago. Governor bl.wj.b was trying to add to the existing corporate taxes a 'corporate gross receipts' tax. The State Legislature, Democrat controlled in both houses, turned him down 0-113 in the House.
Most assesors have been quietly raising the rake-in on property tax by raising the assesment every year, whether or not the actual value of the house went up. My sister is paying 4800 on a house we bought in 1992 for 69,000 and with the depressed market, it's probably not worth more than about 100,000 where she's at.
This is the kind of sh!t we're going to see coming out of Washington DC now that Obama is in power.
If you drive a car, I'll tax the street If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat, If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat, If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.
Don't ask me what I want it for, if you don't want to pay some more. Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman.
Now my advice for those who die, Declare the pennies on your eyes, Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman, and you're working for no one but me.
