Supposedly the Envirowhackos are sponsoring Earth Hour tonight at 2030 local
time everywhere.  We're supposed to turn off all our lights for an hour.

I think I'm going to do JUST THE OPPOSITE to piss them off.  Turn on every
light in this house from 8:30 to 9:30  Probably raise the temperature 5
degrees.  It's supposed to be snowing tonight anyway.  (So much for
AlGoreSoreLoserMan's global warming.)

Yeah. You go ahead and piss them off. I'm sure they'll notice, and everyone
will be talking about you afterward, you loser.

Gee, what a stupid thing to do. Look at the newspapers and see how oil
companies are slowing their exploration and drilling activities. Guess
what this will mean in a few years? Yeap, oil shortages and high gas
prices.

And as far as global warming, no one said that wouldn't be any snow,
only that the average temperature will go up. If the average temp is
20 F and goes up to 25 F, it will still snow.

What a stupid comment you made and what a stupid thing you are doing.

Jeff

are we going to get satellite photos of all the earth being dark?  I've seen
the ones with all the "points of light" - be a nice companion view.

FWIW, my utility bill for Feb shows avg temp for the month in 2008 was 38
degrees - 2009 was 34 degrees.  Global warming caused it to be 4 degrees
colder?

Charles, you stole my thunder...

Yup. Turn EVERYTHING on!

He turned on the television.
He turned off the radio.
He played a game of cribbage.
He read his masked marvel comic book. He walked thru the kitchen,
made a cup of tea,
made a cup of coffee,
sat down,
ate a piece of pie,
went upstairs,
played another game of cribbage,
went back in,
finished his other masked marvel comic book, laid down,
he had the television, the radio, the egg beater, the air conditioner
n'everything's all goin' at once. He walks up on deck and this is fifty
two minutes later n' this cat ain't breathed yet!

Whatever, new mandatory laws are the result of non compliance with
suggested standards.  All it takes is a crying mother on the local news,
and a senator's son-in-law who happens to be the CEO of some company
that makes timers for lights.
  And Al Gore?  Looky here,
" Al Gore's Nashville mansion (PajamasMedia.com)
Al Gore defends his extraordinary personal energy usage by telling
critics he maintains a "carbon neutral" lifestyle by buying "carbon
offsets," but the company that receives his payments turns out to be
partly owned and chaired by the former vice president himself."

Well, there's a surprise.

I think I said something in another post about Al cashing in his Carbon
Credits.

Hey, as long as you feel good! It still doesn't decrease the amount of
wattage the company he gets electricity from has to pump out, or the
company he's buying the 'credits' from.

500 Megawatts is 500 megawatts. Period.

I turned every light in my apartment on.  Including the closet lights.  It
did warm the apartment up 5 degrees.

They're talking about 2-4 inches of SNOW here tonight.

I may turn the lights back on just because I hear the wind whipping against
the patio door on the north side.

I thought winter was over with.  But March is going to end up colder than it
started.  Are we having 'Indian giver Spring' again?

My property looked like a German POW camp after an attempted escape.
Hell, even the LANSat picked it up.

It was warm last night, so I set up two air conditioners. But I had them
facing out instead of in. I figured that would help quell Global Warming...
