In other words, Nobama is a LIAR and not worthy of the respect we should
give the office of POTUS.

Actually, there is a tax cut. instead of the tax rebates that Bush
gave out in one lump sum, Obama is giving the tax cut out in small
chunks.

Sorry, even "HE" can't change the law, he just had the with-holding changed.
Congress may change the law but, as yet, its all in his dreams. Just like
Bush couldn't spend money that congress didn't approve and appropriate.
So as of now tax liability stays the same. I am surely guessing but I'd
think there's going to be some heartburn in congress over cutting taxes with
all the spent and planned spending. As there won't be a tax increase in an
election year (2010) I'd be damned surprised if there wasn't a tax increase
in what ever guise it takes by the end of this year.

Actually, he's not. The tax cut is only a cut to witholding, the tax tables
are not changed. Cap and Trade will cause your fuel relatred costs to go up
greater than the tax cut, so the cut that isn't there is really just a shift
of taxes anyway, which means your taxes will remain the same and the cap and
trade costs will drive up your cost of living. Cap and Trade is a tax, by
the way.

Something that is really noticeable to me is gasoline prices. As our dollar
value decreases oil/gasoline are going back up. prices here have gone up
about 70 cents/gallon in two months. 2.09 last time I noticed and 2.29 in
Wash state about 2 miles away. This hurts disposable income a lot.
I can imagine I'll get pilloried and kicked out of the party but
transportation has always been funded by gasoline tax. The fuel tax is a
mess and needs to be raised IMHO. Here on the west coast, interstates are
in fair shape but all most other roads are pretty sad and need a lot of
funding and more assured than the stimulus.
do I dare sign?

The problem is that the fuel tax is not going up. As a matter of fact, fuel
tax receipts have gone DOWN. Why do you think OreGone is trying to have a
tax by mileage instead of by gallon?

Not only that, the increase in gas has been disproportional to oil
price increase. Something about $50 oil and $2 gas vs. $140 oil and
$4 gas, especially when a large chunk of the price is a fixed amount
for taxes, does not add up. I suspect that the oil companies are
recouping the margin they gave up to help demand stay high when prices
were $4 but should have been $5.

If you look at the financial statements filed with the FEC, you should
see how much money the oil companies really made.
