Really? Then how did the 20 people that the article reports died really die?
Government conspiracy?

He said stupid flu (which you seem to have too), not swine flu.

Just by forcing his agenda down the throats of decent Americans, he's going
to set civil rights back 50 years, if not more.

Well, if Congress had listened to him the two or three times he asked for
examinations into banking practices, we wouldn't be in this mess at all.

What did he do with the FDIC, Freddie Mac, Fanny Mae and SEC to stop
the problems? Did he set up his administration in such a way that
regulation of industry and financial markets was a key part?

Both the Democrats and Republicans (the Republicans controlled the
House and Senate for most of Bush's tenure) bare responsibility for
the mess.

wrong.  They became Democrats....

The ship started sinking when the 'real' Democrats took over....

No, it's the part about Obama 'starting to work on the economy in

So far, he's probably done more to wreck the US than any President in

Really.

How come the government wants 50% of GM's Common (voting) stock?

That will probably make them the biggest shareholder. Oh, yeah, THAT
sounds good!

Just what we need: the same people that brought back Welfare and Public
housing running the 2nd biggest car company in the world.

The dimms in congress are who to blame for the mess we're in now.  Lack
of oversight on their part, but they like to shuffle the blame off on
someone else, typical liberal thinking.

With all the votes in the senate needing 60 votes and the repubnicans
voting as a mindless block against anything the democrats wanted to
do, the Bush executive branch effectively cut off oversight.

How much time did they have to come up with revisions before the Democrats
voted and passed it?

Yeah. A one party government really works for me!

That's not what I asked. I asked what you thought of the numbers in the
Republican budget proposal. Let's refer to it by the official name:

"The Republican Road to Recovery"

You're talking about it, so I assume you read it. Here it is, in case you
lost the link since you read it originally:

What do you think of the NUMBERS?

Forget power. The Republicans have zero credibility at the moment. I asked
Hach what he thought of the Republican counterproposal to Obama's budget. He
can't find anything in the proposal to object to because it contains NO
NUMBERS.

What the hell kinda budget contains NO NUMBERS?

NOTHING the Republicans say now has any effect.

They have NO power.

That is the problem with voting either party power in all three
branch's of government.

This is a Democrat Train Wreck.

If they had credibility, they would have power. Why did you vote for people
who have no credibility?

By the way, the Democrats did not force Republicans to create a budget
counterproposal which contained NO NUMBERS. Don't blame Democrats for that
unless you think they had thugs standing over Republican typists forcing
them to write the budget.

WHAT???  You think the Republicans allowed office staff to type and release

When YOU read the budget (which was released to the public amidst much
fanfare), what did YOU think of it?

Actually they do, through their own Congressional Budget Office,
Republican-friendly universities, like Stanford and Chicago, and
private economic forecasting firms, like Alan Greenspan's.  Plus they
have a lot of people who've worked in the Executive branch and know
the ins and outs of government very well.

The only reason the Republican leadership's proposed budget excluded
any numbers was because it was meant to be nothing but a piece of
political propaganda, not a serious document from leaders who wanted
to take responsibility.  And all politicians know that specific
information, such as numbers, is bait for opposition attacks, so they
try to avoid them as much as possible, but in this case they went so
overboard that they fooled nobody.  A smart guy like Newt Gingrich
would have known better and included some specifics to prevent such
criticism, even specifics that were cliche our outright lies.

It seems none of the faithful can explain how Democrats made Republicans
lost their credibility. How can that be?

Democrats don't control the other party's credibility.

That's not the job of the Executive Branch.
Oh, wait...I guess it is now. But Obama doesn't seem to give a hang about
the Constitution anyway. And all the Bobbleheads like Kennedy, Reid and
Pelosi sure aren't going to say anything.

He asked Congress to lok into banking practices on at least two occasions.
They ignored him and created the mess. It wouldn't surprise me in the
least if they did it on purpose to get one of their 'own' into office.

Preserving what?  Preserve the outsourcing all jobs offshore and
converting the American economy into a third world job market?
Preserve an America that spies on its own citizens and elected
officials?  Preserve an America that dismantles the Constitution to
turn America into a theocracy?  Preserve an America that starts wars
just to keep the military-industrialist corporations flush with cost-
plus contracts that bleed the treasury dry?

Off base; but then you knew that...

Let's put it this way: I couldn't *stand* GWB's political
positions/policies. IMO, he did the USA - & much of the rest of the world -
various huge disservices via his presidency.  I heartily wished him out of
office; it was a mighty long 8 years.  However, I never wished him dead. To

That's not a proper answer.

It's a good of an answer as when you steadfastly refused to post TinyURLs
for links to articles you wanted me to read.

You can be a real PITA when you want to be.

Good for you.  I have nothing against Apples -  if I'd learned on one, I'd
prob. have one.  But I didn't, so I don't.

There is nothing to learn.  You turn it on and go.  I have both here,
Windows XP on another computer and Apple OS-10 on my dual processor
floor model which I use for processing photos and keeping extreme
lefties in the NG backed in corners.  The XP box is used for some
special needs.  Go with the Apple machine and you won't be so cranky.
You can buy a mini mac for about $600 or so...Good enough for checking
test papers and making remarks on the NG's.

Cheers

Also, it would have meant that Cheney would have been president. However
awful Bush was, and all the experts agree that he will go down in
history as one of the worst, if not the worst, president in history,
Cheney would have been far worse.

In complete agreement.  Cheney may be intellectually with-it, but....
arghhhh - how he put(s) that gray matter to use is another story.

Sounds like you'd like to kill the president yourself if you could get close
enough, warrior boy. I sure hope nobody's listening, for your sake.

You also seem to have forgotten the oath you theoretically took when you
were theoretically in the Navy.

You're just yearning for a Joe Biden presidency.
