The Toyota Truck line, everywhere else (other than North America), are
called Hi-Lux. "Surf" is a subcategory, where in NA it's just a 4Runner.
Like everywhere else in the world, Diesel is much cheaper than Gas.
The 4500 (4.5L) Turbo Diesel engines have been out for a while, and I have
not heard of any issues. I wonder if the 79 Series is the FJ Cruiser?

Hi Rastamon,
Yes Diesel here in oz is abit cheaper sometimes and of late it was cheaper
but in
the last week has gone up to match the price of petrol(Gas)
The 79 i am referring to is the Landcruiser ute model in the 70 Series range
or
pickup as you fella's call em.
The LC79 has the 4500 D4-D v8 TD intercooled engine.....

I did not think they still make the series 70. The 70 Series were out in
the late 1980's. I've seen the 4500TD engine in the LC Prado (Lexus GX470)
and the 90 Series LC. Typically diesel engines have bad smoking problems
after 5 years, but the Toyota and Nissan Diesels don't seem to have that
problem, unless poorly maintained.

So you are incorrect.

The new 70 series is a retro design and looks very similar to the Original
70 series came out in the late 1980's, with a newer engine. In most parts
of Asia, Middle-East, Europe and North America, Series 80 and 90 are more
common.

Is that the 'Workmate Cab & Chassis"?
Not a model we get here. The GXL is out, too.
When it comes to Landcruiser, we get...

Last one I saw was when I was working for a Toyota dealer, a 2006 with a
price tag of USD65,000!!!
We don't get the Prado. We don't get ANY of the models on the page you
sent.
As a matter of fact, I just saw an older one today, probably a mid-80's
with a Diesel. We don't get many Toyota Diesels here at all. It was the
first one I've seen.

We do get the Prado, but it's been rebadged as a Lexus GX470, the
LX470/LX570 are the LC variants.

Interesting. The Cab and chassis? What kind of a body are you appending to
it?
We don't get the cool stuff in the States...
Well, except my Scion tC, of course.

Hi Hach
Yes the cab chassis is used in oz with a steel dropside tray and is called a
landcruiser ute or cab chassis with tray body.

Yeah. We have the bodies here, but not the "LandCruiser".
