My old Alma Mater. Butner. The epitome of "Club Fed".

If you ever screw up, make sure it's a clean, white collar crime with no
victims, and you might luck out and get sent to this oasis in the Federal
system.

There are some badasses, for sure, but there are anywhere. You won't be
too afraid to walk out to the rec yard or anywhere else, because everyone
knows that if the pull any crap, they'll get some "diesel therapy" and
wind up somewhere not quite so ostentatious...

He's in good company, as Fox news says; a 'bomb plotter' (the guy who
helped plan the WTC garage bombing in 1993), Jim Baker (although he's lnog
gone. They said he was a good cook), the Tylenol guy (wonder why you don't
see capsules anymore?) and a 'convicted spy' (Jon Pollard, someone who
should have gotten about 48 months, but instead draws Life plus 5 years...)

I find it troubling however, that a 71 year old white collar criminal
gets 150 years, when murderers are set free in just a few, a few being
20 or 30.  To murder again.  If you are a 20 year old murderer, then you
are out between 40 and 50 years old.  Pretty kool alright.

I have a problem with an amateur Ponzi perp like Madoff getting
sentenced at all, while members of our government from top to bottom
hammered us with the biggest Ponzi scheme of all over the decades, and
got away with it.

This is true, but they can get away with it, at least until the next
election.  Then lets throw the bastards out.

This has been going on for decades.  Every administration has been
complicit in the raping of the American taxpayer via the Federal
Reserve Board.

IOW, you've been butt-f.cked by what passes now for Uncle Sam.

I'm sure he's appealing. Appealing the case, that is...
Could be tough going, since his wife *only* has $2M left to live on...

What gets me is, Jon Pollard was convicted of selling secrets to the
Israelis, and those secrets weren't really, it was just information we had
about the surrounding nations that they didn't.

Meanwhile, a guy came in a couple days after me, for selling *real*
secrets to the Soviets, and he got 48 months...

I dunno, dbu.     If I had my life-savings stolen,  I would probably suffer
every day of the rest of my life--blaming myself for being so naive and
blaming the perp for taking advantage of that naivete.  First degree
murderers should NEVER see freedom again--an island surrounded by
sharks-infested waters, heavily mined, too, comes to mind as a good place
for them.  Basic food, shelter. NO radio. NO TV. Carefully screened
reading/study materials.  LOTS of time to reflect on why they are there. Bad
behavior would result in bread and water for increasing periods of time,
then total darkness for increasing periods of time. NO torture, though.
