2005 vs 2006 Sienna Changes

Just curious... what are the changes between the 05 & 06 Siennas?  Anyone
know?

Go www.edmunds.com -> Forum -> Select Sienna.

One big change is 06 has 6-CD change that can play mp3/wma, it comes
standard.

OUTLINE OF NEW FEATURES
The following changes are made for the 2006 model year.
1. Exterior
 The designs of the front bumper, radiator grille, headlights, and fog
lights have been changed.
 The design of the rear combination lights and rear lights has been
changed.
 The design of the door outside protective molding has been changed.
 The following exterior colors are provided:

056 White
071 White Pearl Crystal Shine
1D7 Silver Mica Metallic
1F9 Gray Metallic
3Q3 Dark Red Mica Metallic
4Q2 Beige Mica Metallic
6U0 Light Green Metallic
8R5 Blue Metallic
8S6 Dark Blue Mica
2. Interior
 The color of the center cluster ornament, front door trim armrest switch
base, and front seat tray table garnish has been changed from high gloss
black to silver metallic.
 A driver's seat position memory switch is provided as new optional
equipment on the driver side front door trim on the XLE and XLE Limited
grades.
3. Lighting
 On the models with the daytime running light system for U.S.A., a daytime
running light resister is used to reduce the brightness of the daytime
running light.
 Outer foot lights are provided as optional equipment for the outside rear
view mirrors on the driver side and front passenger side on the XLE grade.
4. Combination Meter
On the '06 Sienna, a newly designed combination meter has been used.
 An Optitron type combination meter is provided as standard equipment on
the XLE and LE grades.
 The timing of the oil replacement reminder light warning has been changed
as shown below.

5. Air Conditioning
 The Max A/C mode has been added to the manual dual-control air
conditioning.
 A new type of clean air filter is used on all models.
 The following air conditioning control specifications have been changed in
order to prevent the fogging of the window glass.
a) The recirculation mode cannot be used when the DEF mode is selected*1.
b) A control has been added that automatically switches the air conditioning
from the recirculation mode to the fresh mode after a predetermined time
(approximately 3 minutes) when the recirculation mode is being used and the
ambient temperature is low (when it drops to 10 degrees C [50 degrees F] or
less).
c) The compressor turns on when the FOOT/DEF*2 or DEF mode*1 is selected.
d) The airflow volume is increased when the DEF mode is selected*3.
e) The air conditioning switches to the fresh mode when the FOOT/DEF*2 or
DEF mode*1 is selected.
*1: All Models
*2: Only for Manual Air Conditioning
*3: Only for Auto Air Conditioning
6. Navigation System with AV System
 The navigation system with AV (Audio Visual) system contains an updated
navigation system in which new functions have been added.
 The hands-free function that supports the Bluetooth) communication
protocol has been newly added in the navigation system with AV system.
7. Rear View Monitor
The navigation system with AV system and rear view monitor system are
provided as a set as new optional equipment on the LE grade.
8. Power Slide Door System
The power sliding door system that was optional equipment on the XLE grade
has been changed to standard equipment.
9. Power Back Door System
The power back door system that was optional equipment on the LE grade has
been discontinued.
10. Engine Immobilizer System
The engine immobilizer system is provided as new optional equipment on the
LE grade for the U.S.A. models, and as new standard equipment on the LE and
CE grades for the Canada models.
11. Memory System
A memory system that can recall the positions of the seat on the driver side
and the outside rear view mirrors on both sides is provided as optional
equipment on the XLE grade.
12. Power Rear No.2 Seat with Stowing Function
 A power rear No.2 seat with stowing function that can independently
operate the left and right seats of the power rear No.2 seat with stowing
function is provided as new optional equipment on the XLE and LE
grades for the wagon type 2WD models.
 Eight hooks have been provided on the rear side of the seat back of the
power rear No.2 seat with stowing function for the storage of luggage such
as shopping bags.
13. Rear View Mirror
 An EC type of inside rear view mirror is provided as optional equipment on
the XLE and LE grades.
 The EC + heater type outside rear view mirror is provided as optional
equipment on the XLE grade.
 The EC type of outside rear view mirror was only provided on the driver
side on the '05 Sienna. This has been changed to both sides on the '06
Sienna.
 Turn signal lights that use LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are provided as
optional equipment for the outside rear view mirrors on the driver side and
front passenger side for XLE grade.
 A power fold outside rear view mirror is optional equipment on XLE and
standard on XLE Limited
14. Audio System
 The RSAS (Rear Seat Audio System) has been discontinued.
 A 9-inch rear display is used.
 The system is equipped with a function that the operation from the front
seats disables the RSES (Rear Seat Entertainment System) operation from the
rear seats.
 The operation buttons are located in the panel of the RSES unit.
 An MP3 playback function has been added.
 The system is equipped with a function that allows the RSES to be turned
on and off from the front seats.
 The opening angle of the rear display has been changed.
 The design of the remote controller has been changed.
 A mini-jack auxiliary audio input has been added.
