Just bought a Corolla and the maintenace book says that the Maintenace
Reguired Light needs to be reset with the oil change.

Does this mean that every 5000 miles this light is going to come on and
not go off untill someone resets it? Is it the end of the cheap oil
change place for me?

Every 4500 miles I think.  Easy to reset.  Change to the odometer display
instead of trip a or b.  Turn the car off.  Push the odometer button in and
hold it while starting the car.  Release button after 4 seconds or so when
display normalizes.  Page 31 or so of the owners manual.
