If you are using conductive paint to repair scratches in the defroster grid,
you do not have to remove the clip unless the pad that holds the tab that
the clip attaches to broke off the glass. I believe the clip has toothlike
tabs to hold on to the tab. If the tab is not attached to the glass, you
may be able to fit a very small screwdriver like the kind you use to repair
eyeglasses to get the tooth off of the tab.

will try that mafg of kit never responed to how
to remove cilp from pad guess they never did it
but make kits for both Vain & Pad Repair

What are you trying to repair? Did the terminal fall off of the grid or is
the grid just scratched? If the grid is scratched, there is no need to
remove the clip from the terminal.
