Anyone know the UK book value of the following:

Nissan X-trail XT - June 2004, 10075 miles(16214K).
Vauxhall Astra SRI 2.2 litre - December 2001, 27633 miles(44471K).

Looking at shipping these vehicles from OZ.  Quoted 1265 British pounds per
vehicle.  Wonder if it's worth it?  Both owned from new and no import
duties apply.

Just checked on Autotrader.co.uk - with that mileage, the Astra's worth
around £5-5.5k, and from what I can make out the Nissan's worth about
£12-14k (can't find an "XT" model of the X-trail, and you don't mention what
engine's in yours).

I've heard car values for stuff like old-ish BMWs are much higher over
there - not sure for what you've got, but you may well be better off
flogging them over there and getting something once you're here.  But then
if you're planning to hang on to them both for a long time, then you may
like to keep the cars you've had from new...

Thanks for your reply.

Checked the Astra prices on Loot(London) and got similar prices.  The Astra
is worth more in OZ, about 7,500 pounds.  The X-Trail is a UK equivilent
SVE 2.5 litre petrol bought new for 13,500 pounds so that's definitely
worth taking.

Yup - cheapest on autotrader, with SVE and petrol as search terms, and
looking under 2 years old, is £13,995, with a fair few at £14,995, so yup,
worth taking that one.
