I'm in the UK and am tempted to buy a new X-Trail, but am concerned that the
revised model will be out before too long (maybe 2007?).

Anyone know when the new model is due to appear?

TIA

Honda do seem to change their cars every 3 or 4 yrs so I guess its due too.

Why not look at the facelifted Kia Sorento - available about now at least in
some trim/engine formats.

I wont bore you with the awards the Sorento has won, includint top 4x4 in JD
Power satisfaction surveys 2 years running - but it is worth a look.

I keep hearing tales of diesel X-trails with turbo failures.  Was planning
to buy one but not so sure now.

Its a bit unfair on the Old Nissan, rather like the original (to UK)
cherokee and original 16valve Golf GTI not being looked after properly by
numpties and therefore getting a bad reputation.

Just ensure oil in the engine, follow advice on engine care after
long/fast/hard trip

I have just sold an X-trail due to me getting a company car.

At 24k the turbo did go, only 3 mile from a Nissan dealer. It got fixed and
then the ECU/Boost sensor was replaced due to a recall. Did a total of 56k
in the car with no further trouble with the turbo.

The ECU/boost sensor recal on "most" sorted the turbo failure out
