Diesels do that, at night with a car following you, you'll probably
think a fog has descended! It really shows up under those
circumstances. You can see it happening when people overtake in a
diesel, I've driven a fair few diesels, not yours, but they all smoke
a bit when you accelerate hard.
Of course if you're spurting out thick white or black smoke that fills
the road and forces other drivers to stop, then that's another matter ;-)

This also tends to happen if you rev hard when the car has not been
driven hard for a while. There are some who suggest that a diesel needs
a good gunning every couple of weeks, again if it is not driven hard .

This is normal
Why are you accelerating at 4krpm in a diesel when the power has tailed off?
