Its really annoying - the only time I see them "off road" is when the
"birds" park them on the pavement - Is it because its safer for the  "kids"
there?

actually I live just outside LLandovery - in the wilds and have an old 88
and I just love those  4*4 users thinking they have to defend "trendy"
SUV/AUV or  whatever they're called.

My enemies enemies are NOT MY FRIENDS - comprendo?

There are at least two people in that head of yours, and I'm sorry to
say that they're both tosspots.

My enemies enemies are NOT MY FRIENDS - comprendo?

non-comprendo ?

I use a 4*4 as I have to, I detest the fashionistas who give decent cars a
bad name - actually I also detest 4*4s that would struggle to go where a
2CV could manage without the probs

Go on just send another insult, Its easier on the brain cell than reasoning
innit :-)

How would you know?

Do your best next time not to take both sides of an argument.  If you
have to take both sides, then try to involve as few other people as
you can by standing in a cupboard and talking to yourself.

You won't see them off-road if you don't, yourself, also go off-road.

not all 4*4 are made for off road.
what about some of the saloon cars that have 4*4 to help road handling, or
even to help control of the car in snow, etc .

The OP was specifically talking about seeing 4x4's off-road ... so what's
your point?

That brainless fuckwits like you think your amateur trolling attempts cut
the mustard? Indeed.

Saw Death Race 2000 on SKY last night - naff/cult film (depending on your
POV)  from the 1970s - so thats where we got the joke about more points for
old folks/people in wheelchairs being run down
