Hi All

Have an old shogun 2.5TDI at the moment

Looking at above models (around T reg 2.7TDI) as possible replacement will I
be disappointed?

Is there any difference between them apart from the badging?

From whay I have been told by friends who have owned them there is a
mjor difference in service. Nissan engineers mend them, while Ford guys
just stand and scratch thier heads!

There are equipment differances. My ford had ABS. The nissans had wood
trim.
Had it serviced at a indipendant local garage. Just replaced it with the
Terrano.
I was happy with mine. This is the first time in 40ish years motoring I
have replaced "like for like". Only hope that this one serves me as well
good as the last one.

It depends what you want to do with them. When the MoD changed its policy
on fleet vehicles for scientists, a couple of mates of mine took a hired
Maverick on a tour of Salisbury Plain, instead of the beat up old Defender
we used to have. They returned it after one day of use mostly broken. Many
of the spot welds on the body had opened up when it was offroaded, they
trashed two shocks and first gear wasn't there anymore.

It also did 3.5 mpg.

OTOH many people I know who have one for light off-road use reckon they are
OK and most of them seem to be still in good nick. So probably not a
problem unless you were thinking of it for heavy use off road.
