At present I drive a Ford Transit LWB with just 8 seats. This is to comply
with being a "van" for tax reasons.
I am looking to replace it with something less long in the tooth but with
the following criteria.
Must have a tonne carrying capacity to conform to being a "van"
Must be capable of taking roof bars
Must be capable of carrying at least 5 people
Must be able to carry bikes inside
Can anyone point me in a direction of what's around? I'm looking for a
budget of £3-4k.
Would appreciate any response.

An imaginary Officer of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs has given the
following response:
It's one thing to pretend your people carrier is a van to obtain a
fictitious tax deduction and another to do it blatantly in the expectation
that others are as craven as you are. That is getting close to a definition
of 'pikey' behaviour.
Come to think of it do you also need to be able to tow a caravan?

Criticising legal tax reduction measures and displaying blatant
prejudice, you really do have the moral high ground there!

I don't have a caravan.
It's not a fictitious tax reduction. I do require it to carry goods on
occasions, not scrap I might add.
I had hoped for a more helpful response and would appreciate any help on
this matter.

Many thanks for your post. Greatly appreciated.
They are a tad expensive and thought the 110 was still fairly basic and
uncomfortable. They don't seem to represent good value. The budget is just
a guideline and am willing to spend more.
