Can anybody recommend somewhere, preferably near to Derbyshire, that
does something like gift vouchers for a 4x4 off-road "training/fun" day,
with vehicles provided?
Any ideas what something like this would be likely to cost?

Parkwood 4x4 at Tong, not too far from Derbyshire, do this.

Looks like about £150 for half a day.
I've never used them, I just know about them as I used to live in Tong.

Hello Eddie, Try 4x4-driving.com, they often have discount vouchers on
e-bay (search under off-road-training). Main site is at Mansfield,
just over the M1 from you. And they're BORDA members which means they
have both standards and insurance - There are a coule of others on the
BORDA website in the general area. Prices go from about £60ish for an
hour on the circuit to around £150 for a half day.
Some friends went from their workplace and drove a Suzuki, Discovery
and Frontera, it's a huge site in Sherwood, 'facilities' are a bit
basic but there is an excellent transport cafe at Bilsthorpe just down
the road that has clean toilets and hot water!
Have fun, Lurch
