Sorry? Are you supposed to be showing us a picture or something?

Better idea would be to use a "memory saver" type device which supplies just
enough current to keep the radio alive, while you remove the battery.

No problem with a low amperage domestic type charger.
There was a thread in this n/g on the 27th Jan.
Subject, 'Charging with battery connected'
The consensus was that it was harmless to the ECU or electrics.

On My 16V Cavalier Ecotec the crank breather comes off the same plate/
mounting as the bottom of the dipstick. There is then another hose
from the rear of the rocker box to the inlet trunking, just before the
idle air control valve, to reintroduce the gases. There is also a very
small bore pipe following a similar route, but to the inlet manifold
area ( not sure where without looking! may be mainfold, may be inlet
chamber )

Thanks very much for the replies, such a relief to know someone out
there to ask this sort of stuff.
I'll have a look at it early next week as got my daughter with me over
the weekend. Got another problem now but hoping to sort it myself. I
used an engine degreaser to clean down the engine (possible leak from
rocker cover hence query over oil breather pipe). Now it starts but
only runs on maybe 2/3 cylinders and the engine management light is
on, water got in somewhere I guess? HT leads look ok, need to get a
narrow plug tool to get plugs out to check them. Was my brother's car
and he had an intermittent misfire, so could be related.

Got it running ok now, just needed to dry out overnight I think.

I have often used a low-amp charger with the battery in place and have never
had a problem. I don't see why it should; the current from the charger is
only supplementing that from the battery anyway, surely?
