Knocking noise coming from nearside front. Gets progressively worse as speed
increases.
Something wrong with driveshaft or joint ?

first check the wheel nuts are tight and the wheel trim is not loose.

Both tight - more of a thumping than a knocking noise - like
thump,thump,thump etc

Next try swapping the wheels front to back to eliminate a faulty/damaged
tyre.

CV joint is generally more of a hum or groaning sound.

Turned out she had hit a pothole and bent the rim which was then rubbing on
the strut.

She left the car at dide of road with hazards and sidelights on.
When we went to lift the car the battery was flat.
We jumpstarted it and got it home.
However neither the radio or the display showing the date outside temp etc
won't go off when the key removed from
ignitition.
Obviously something to do with flat battery and central locking messing
about.

Any ideas anyone ?  Does something need reset after flat battery ?

thanks

Sounds like your radio has logic control.

Hold station button 1 and 3 in while you switch on.

IGNI ON appears and after a beep IGNI OFF.

To reverse it, do the same again.

It is not the standard radio - JVC unit fitted when she got the car a couple
of months ago.
No problems before battery flattened.
Professionally fitted by local ICE specialist.
May have to pay him a visit
