Anybody have a SAAB 9000 turbo (was an airconned autoboxed ES model on
a G plate if its relevant) intercooler spare, or know of any UK based
SAAB forums?

For the 2.0 turbo Land-Rover swap - have one intercooler but need a
2nd to stack behind it/merge end tanks on. (think a 3rd would be
excessive!)

Marko, a lot of the UK Saab 900 guys use Volvo 7**/8** IC's as front
mounts on their cars to replace the standard side mount, as it is larger
and flows better than a 9000 one that has been tried before. And on the
900, they are able to get the pipework to fit with a mix and match of
900, 9000, and Volvo pipe work, so you don't even need to do anything
excessive with Samco hoses.

I'm after the 9000 cores rather than the IC itself - as the core is an
ideal size for me when used double thickness/two off. Can knock up end
tanks easily enough, and I think the flow issue will be due to the end
tanks rather than the core? Volvo core is too tall - only have 15"
height to play with. Want horizontal flow from passenger side to
driver's side.

Ah, OK. maybe sign up and ask arround on either
http://www.saabcentral.com or http://www.saabscene.co.uk and see if any
of the 9000 aero boys have old ones lying arround after upgrading?

They will probably tell you try a Volvo one first though, so you will
need to explain.

Also Saabcentral have a classified section with parts for sale so you
might get lucky.

If you mean the original old 900, nothing like.
The 9000 is a front mount with the inlet and outlet on either side, the
old 900 has both hoses at the top, and is side mounted and quite small.

Yeah this one has the inlet and outlet on the same side pointing in the same
direction

Thats an old 900 then.
Not bad, didn't flow as well as a 9000, but cooled better, or maybe the
other way round.

Lot of the 900 boys swap to Volvo 7/8/9 turbo ICs and front mount them.
but for that to work properly you need to facelift the car, if it is pre
'87 (all bolt on stuff).
