My sister has a 2000 model Ford Fiesta, its metalic black in colour, does
anyone know the exact colour as per Fords description? ive heard it may be
"panther black" can anyone confirm this is the only metalic black Ford do?

Ide ask her myself but im planning on buying her a rear spoiler for it for
her birthday but dont really want to have to spoil the surprise by asking
her the correct colour code/name.

any help appreciated
thanks

Why not just phone up your local Ford dealer or a body shop?

Find some excuse to get the paint code from the plate (under bonnet, or
drivers door jamb not sure on Fiestas) or ring dealer giving reg number.

Mr. West, not every situation requires your patented approach of shoot
first, shoot later, shoot some more and then when everybody's dead try
to ask a question or two

Ford do a few different Metallic Blacks I think, anyway the paint code will
be under the bonet on the VIN plate listed under a color heading.
Take this to any ford dealer or others and they can match the correct color

You need to look under the bonnet - it's called Panther Black, but there are
lots of different versions of the colour. You need the paint code or the
match will be shite.

You might want to check if it will affect her insurance premium. It is only
a cosmetic modification but some companies can be very fussy.

Very fussy indeed - some are quite happy if the part is fitted by Ford, some
if it's a Ford part but don't care who fitted it...

Are you sure she shares your bad taste?

lol, not my taste at all, when asked what she was expecting for her birthday
she had a list of bits for her car, the spoiler was on there but she isnt
expecting it as the Ford originals are over ?100 plus paint! i managed to
get one off ebay(ford oringinal) brand new painted in colour of choice for
?45!

thanks to all for their help now sorted

I think it depends on what type.

If its the OEM Ford one fitted to many Fiestas, I wouldnt say its bad taste.
They are quite subtle.

If its a stupid great big wing, I agree, he has bad taste.

As I posted some months ago re my Citroen's "Wicked Red" some of these
colours come in
slight tone differences, Shitroen had 6 versions of WR in 18 months. Get
expert opinion from a professional touch-up firm like Dent Magician as to
which one applies.
