Whats the best way to hire a 4*4 for a few days or weekend ?

most chains seem to want to hire out mondeos and similar

anyone recommend somewhere ?

What sort of 4x4, for what sort of purpose?

I'm surprised if none of the big chains can rent you a softroader or
chelsea tractor for on-road use. Hertz website mentions Freelunches or
Discos from Heathrow.
