Sir.
According to the data published in Autocar, 13/09/2000, the 1.8 & 2.0
litre petrol models have indentical internal ratios & final drive
gearing.
The 2.0 litre DI diesel has a completly diffeent set of internal
ratios, & a different final drive, the 2.5 litre V6 has thesame ratios
as the other petrol engines, save for a different (higher) 5th gear, &
another, higher, final drive.
All 5s speed boxes, of course.
The later 6-speeds differ, from personal experience the V6 has a close
ratio internal set, but the diesel's internal ratio's are much wider
spaced.
I'd strongly suspect that the final drive ratio's are differnt.
No personal experiences re. th 6-speed 1.8 SCi lunp.

That's grand - thanks. I should have said, "1.8 and 2.0 petrol models" heh.
