Apologies if this sounds a bit dim,
I want to change the wheels on my car (Scenic) from the standard 14"
alloys. (They look too small for the car!!)
Can I simply put a set of 15" or 16" wheels on and carry on as normal,
or do I have to get anything adjusted?
Like I said, sorry for being dim, but the most modification I've ever
done to a car is putting a sticker on the window!!

No it won't if you fit tyres of the correct profile.....
195/60x15 or 205/50x16 are possible sizes.

If you're thinking of changing wheels have a look at the below links to info
about wheels, offsets, diameters, etc.
http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html
http://www.tyresave.co.uk/choose.html#SIZE
Don't forget that you'll probably fail the MOT if your front wheels foul the
wheel arches when fully compressed or on full lock, though a bigger wheel
with a low profile tyre will make your car less comfortable to drive.
Size it, then surf on ebay for a decent price - but make sure you're not
buying those wheels with built in LEDs!
