Well it happened at last my only accident in 36yrs, the other chap has wiped
out my car (glad to say not my fault)

Can anyone of you give advise on how to negotiate with the loss assessor. I
will be looking at what it cost to replace my car, which I guess will be
more than I am offered.

Also the uninsured losses, no courtesy car when its a write off. I had
fitted a towbar and multidisc CD changer, and 5 mins before prang £30 of
petrol went in ect.

What he said. Helphire seem decent. I might be able to give you more idea if
you tell us what car it is and what year to give some idea of what it's
worth - generally assessors will try and give you less than the car's worth,
claim management companies generally get waved through with everything done
properly (ie, you drive a merc, you get a merc courtesy car, not a micra,
and you get a proper pay out) because they know it's not worth arguing with
them whereas they can with private punters. And the claim management company
gets their money off the bloke who bumped you anyway...

Mines with accident exchange who I think only work through dealers, my E
class has been replaced by an E class. All forms completed by phone and only
had two to sign.
