How would I know if a Rover was fitted with the "K" Series or Honda engine?
Are there big visual clues.  I'm very familiar with what a "K" Series engine
looks like but not a Honda.

There y'go, then. If it doesn't look like a K, it's probably not one.

Then if it doesn't look like a K series engine couldn't you assume it was a
Honda?

Just asking, like.

Dunno, what does the name in your underpants say?

Now I'm really confused.

I know a "Mark", but I don't think I've met a "Spencer" since a bloke I
knew at school.

Cue the old joke about the blonde buying knickers in a large department
store. When she asks the assistant how you are supposed to know which
way they go on, she is told "they are clearly marked C&A".

..............I'll get my coat.

IIRC Honda engines are mounted the wrong way round, so the gearbox is on the
LHS of the engine bay rather than the RHS as you look at it from the front
of the car.

Are there any 'K' series engines left? I'd have thought they'd all self
destructed by now.

If you don't recognise it, it's a Honda?

All recent Rover engines (K-series, L-Series, T-series to name a few)
have 'Rover' marked in large lettering either on the rocker cover or
the plastic acoustic cover on top of the engine. Honda won't allow any
other manufacturer to rebadge its engines, so the Honda units are
completely devoid of branding.
