Tried one out today but the road noise seemed obtrusive.
Has anyone tried one yet? Would be interested to hear
if anyone concurs. Tyres Michelin - 17" Rims. No review I
can find mentions this.

Steel or hydraulic suspension?
Anything on 17s and very low profile tyres (45?) will have plenty of road
noise, so the reviews not mentioning it may well suggest it's not out of
line with rivals.

You're on the wrong group. Try uk.rec.aviation and landing
it on those tyres might just cause a lot of noise !

Hydraulic Suspension - Tyres 225/55 R17. My Mondeo on 18" is
quieter but the C5 rides more to my taste (old peoples home
on wheels)

I'm running a Rover 75 diesel today, makes me want to wear a cravat and
smoke a pipe when I'm driving it.

I used to wear a hat and smoke a pipe in my Volvo. Must have looked f.cking
odd for anyone driving around the lanes when I appeared in the rear view
mirror and shot past in 20 year old brick...

A customer of mine, Paul Hay from Rhayader has just got a new C5, a VTR
+ 1.6 diesel, and he wrote to me:
Ling, I am more than happy to provide some feedback - just to let you
(and anyone else) know that the new shape C5 is superb - smooth,
luxurious and economical (50mpg!). It looks amazing, too. Many thanks
again for arranging it all, see you in 3-years.
A senior (very high) man at Citroen UK said to me yesterday: "C5's
doing pretty well, just need more out on the road I think.....new
Tourer (Estate) arrives June. Drugs worn off, moved on to cups of
Green Tea these days and Yoga is now compulsory at Citroen UK Global
HQ."
I do like car company people who don't take life too seriously. On
that basis, I would recommend the C5 because all my customers who have
had these are very pleased. Compared to the new Laguna (which Renault
are embarrassed to advertise as a 1.5 diesel), the C5 is doing really
well, and is cheap.
Hope this helps.
