You don't understand aircon then?
Even roof down in summer it is much, much nicer to have AC in an MX5
than not have it. Trust me on this.
Or are you one of those people who thinks AC costs £5 a mile to run and
knackers the AC on anything you own by never using it.

Errm I think you're the one that fails to understand it in this context.
Air-con pulling in outside air will quickly build up hiogh levels of
diseasel fumes inside the car. Put it on reccirculate and it will reduce
the level of fumes in the car, for a time. Or if it really does 100%
recirculation until you run out of oxygen.
