I see the Drivers CPC is going to affect C1 and D drivers as well as C
and D.

As far as I can see it’s going to be quite expensive at 1200 quid for
the full 35 hours.  Add that to the normal cost of learning to drive,
and getting a LGV could top 3k.

Ah, more government inspired job destruction for British citizens.

Do Poles need one ?

 EU government inspired.

Yes. Even Swiss if driving for an EU company:

Right. No more surprising there then.

Will it ever end ?

Did you hear the one about taxi drivers in some city being obliged to take lessons in how to talk to their customers ?

The candidate will be asked questions about certain topics such as load
restraints and asked to demonstrate their knowledge e.g. using a ratchet
strap they must show the examiner how it worksGoing to be as tough as hell
then I see.

Yeah it won't be that hard - NVQII level

But the cost?

Think of all the things LGV drivers have to pay out for now that they
didn't.

- Driving licence renewal (10 years)

- Digital tacho

- Drivers CPC

Exactly - and the pay is still crap. No wonder there are thousands of
vacancies.

So really just testing the bleeding obvious but extracting lots of money in the process (as usual).

Do you reckon the British public could ever be sufficiently motivated to go on (as far as practical) a tax strike ?

I always hoped so - although I doubt they will.

Having said that - it is closer than it has ever been.

And I hope it goes all the way!. Spanish fishermen, French fishermen out on
strike - hope it spreads :)
