VR6 Golf Pull to one side

VW friends,

I have noticed the left control arm is longer than the right one because the
ball joints are not installed on the same position on the enlongated holes
of control arms.

Then I pushed the left ball joint inside to shorten the arm length and
roughly adjust the camber and toe for test drive.

The vehicle now pull slowly and much slightly.

Due to the limited time I have, the camber is not equal on both sides. The
left camber is negative roughly 1 degree and right side is negative nearly 2
degree.

Next step:
I will check the arm length again and adjust a equal camber and Zero toe.
Hope the result is good.

~will keep you posted again.

An analogy:

Just because a doctor knows how to do plastic surgery, it doesn't mean
he does it when a bandaid will do just fine!

Have you swapped your front tires yet?  Don't make a mountain out of a
molehill!

Will let you know the outcome.

I have just swap a pair of 15" wheel (195/55 tire) on the car,
the problem of "pull to left side disappears".

The car does not pull now, it is perfect straight.
Even the road is not flat, the car only shift to one side very very slowly.

Now I need to blame on:
1)  the new tire, Toyo RA-1 is defective (used 500km under misalignment)  ?
2)  the free-play of defective bearing create the problem, it become worse
when using  (17x8.5 ET30) to extend the wheel base ?

It's probably a manufacturing defect with the tire- after years of
selling tires, I have learned that it's not too uncommon.  Try running
your hand along the surface of the tire to feel any lumps, bumps or
imperfections.  Also, if you swap the Toyo tires from left to right,
see if the car suddenly pulls the opposite direction (to the right
side).  If so, you know for sure it's the tire causing the problem.  An
honest salesman or tire store should replace them for you at no charge
(depending on how long you've had them).  Good luck!
