Hi,

My Golf (Mk4 TDi 100Bhp 2003) seems to have an interior rattling noise
coming from the back left pillar (where the seat belt is) when I am
driving - not suspension related.

Has anyone else seen/heard of this problem?

I am considering taking apart the panel and make sure all bolts, clips
etc are firmly fitted but I am a little worried I may make the problem
worse by breaking a clip in the process hehe.

Any ideas as to what the fault could be?

Thanks in advance!

p.s. I have checked the boot shelf and spare wheel - and its not them.

I had a maddening noise in that area on my Audi A3 that took ages to
find. It was the seat back bottom pivot. It went away with the seats
folded, so try that.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for responding. The noise seems to have gone away :)

Any ideas on how to fix this? Other than keeping the seat forward?

I never got round to fixing it on mine, but someone else on
www.audi-sport.net took the seat out and wrapped tape around the pivot.
