Hello,

I know this is a lame Qn but anyone point me to a link that gives step by
step instructions of how to change front brake pads
on a VW Polo 1999 T reg 1.4CL.

Or can anyone ouline the steps here. I'm not really a mechanic but then
again I dont have the cash to thow at a garage!

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

I assume you don't yet have a workshop manual?
Not intended in a rude way, but why don't you get one?
£12.53 from Amazon.

If you do have one, it should be more clearly explained and illustrated in there
that you could get from a text-only newsgroup.

You may be able to download one free from the internet - I looked for an
electrical circuit for an older Polo on http://www.eserviceinfo.com and it gave
me the whole Haynes manual (just like the one I have!).
They're not as handy as having a book though, and are clearly ripped off.

I think www.clubpolo.co.uk has some common procedures on their forum site, but
it looks as if they've put it in the members only area - that'll cost you £5 a
year membership.   They're a lively  bunch of mostly youngsters, with a huge
knowledge base.

I'll second that. You'll save the cost just by doing that job, and even
if you have work done by a garage, it's a good guide to what might be
wrong and how to fix it.
