MK2 Golf GTi Waterpump

Got a new one from VW. The gasket between the two parts of the waterpump
(which has arrived fully assembled and bolted together) - should it be left
as it is, or taken to bits and sealanted?

And I've missed the rebate period by a week? Anyone offering odds?

I got my £30 back. It's all good. Apart from them wanting a comedy £33 for a
stat and a rad switch...
