Hi all,
just wondering if it`s worth getting VAG-Com for my 52 plate Passat.   I`m
not a huge tinkerer, but would like to be able to activate any extra
features on this car - remote window rolling, doors locking as I start
driving, that kind of thing.  Would this be possible using VAG-Com, and if
so does anyone have a decent site that has the relevant codings?

Also, any suggestions for suppliers in the UK?  proper licensed ones please
:-)

Thanks in advance!

You can just buy the full software straight from Ross Tech for $99.00. I did
this and bought a cheap interface from ebay. You must download the shareware
VAG-COM first to test it with your interface. Once it's recognised by
VAG-COM then you can buy the full version.
I paid about £30 for my interface and it works fine on all VAG motors I've
tried up to and including a 2003 Passatt.

A bloody good point, thank you for reminding me :-)

The only problem is with later cars- Audi A3 mk2, Golf V etc. These are
CAN-Bus only, and won't play with the cheap interfaces. Your Passat will
be fine though.

When I get one of those cars, I`ll include the extra price of the cable in
with the purchase :-)
