mk4 golf 1.6s 16v 2001

Was driving along the motorway and flicked the indicator stalk left to
move back to left lane and the indicator indicator once then turned
itself off. Then I stopped at services and played with it to see what
was wrong. I click it either way it flicks on once then turnes off
sometimes a few clicks longer. But you can really feel it struggling to
stay on (hope someone knows what I'm on about). But when I put the
hazards on all the outside lndicator lights come on ok no problems and
stay on.

It seems something wrong with when I use the indicator stalk.

I don'd have vag com so a bit of guess work? may be needed. I don't have
a normal stalk I have a cruise control one which is less than a year old.

Flipin' typical as I need the car tommorow.

Thanks all :-)

1) Work the hazard laight switch in and out a few times.
2) check the connections on the stalk- I've seen this exact problem on a
Lupo and the connectors were dropping off.

VAG-COM is unlikely to help in this case anyway :-/
