I have a VW Transporter insured fully com. Now I have bought a second
one and I have to insure it too. Surely there must be an insurance
company that will allow me to add it to my present policy as I am to
be the only driver and I cannot drive both vehicles at the same time?

Correct, but you could crash one after you have crashed the other. Would it
be okay for you if they only paid out on one of them?

I see your excellent point. Of course that is no excuse for only
allowing NCB on one vehicle and also no reason why an added premium
should be acceptable.

Admiral 'Multi-car'?
Otherwise usually you have to have two seperate policies, and quite
often any no claims only applies to the first car too.

Indeed but I already have two cars insured fully comp so a third car
is hardly an extra risk. I am trying to sell one car so I can just
change the insurance over instead of having to take out another
policy.

I've just bought a new car and still have to get shot of the old one,
which needs deep cleaning first (as the last bank robbery didn't quite
go as planned ...)
Attempted to ask the insurance company to quote to change the insurance
over and the new quote and changed cover would have stopped me
completely using the old car, and taking it out for sales
demonstrations. So that gave me the moment to ask them for new 12 months
cover for the new vehicle.
And when that quote was staggeringly more expensive than I was
expecting, I walked somewhere else..
Surely insurance companies should offer some kind of dual cover for a
limited time to help the impulsive buyer? Then again I wouldn't have
found my cheaper quote.... ;-)

Brentacre allowed me to "mirror" my NCB (4 years IIRC) from my GTI to my new
car. They specialise in VWs so you may save a few quid.

Thanks but I have it fixed now. I belong to the Cooperative Society
and they insured the new van with 40% NCB. They will be getting all my
insurance now.
