Hello everyone, I have a pecuilar problem that I cannot seem to solve. I
rebuilt a B23F from the pickandpull, to replace a tapping B27F. Now oil
leaks onto the front exhaust pipe and starts smoking out the cabin.
After 10.000 miles and two valve adjustments I cannot solve a leak from
the half moon shaped oil plug. I replaced the plug and cover gasket three
times already, I don't use any gasket maker, should I? I witnessed the
drip myself with an inspection mirror.
The engine seems to pull a very slight vacuum (I only used my palm on the
filler port) in the crankcase at startup so I belive that the ventilator is
operating correctly, but I did not change the breather box during the
rebuild.
Any help would be truly apprecated.

Make certain that the crankcase ventilation system is clean.

I would use some blue RTV gasket sealant around and on top of the half
moon plug.

Mr. V, you were correct, I really appreciate your correspondance!
The flame trap was solid with crap, I guess I did'nt notice when I put her
in, I'm awaiting parts from FCP groton.
In the mean time I will try to scan and post this volvo M45, M46 service
manual in the coming days to alt.binaries.emanuals as a thanks. Maybe this
will help others in need.
